In a Web site called Serial Killers, Chikatilo's name is spelled "Andrej Tsjikatilo," perhaps closer to the actual Russian name he was given at birth. The site explains that he was known to eat the genitals of his victims, and when he had them as captives, he would gouge out their eyes while they were still alive. During the court trial, Chikatilo was kept in a steel cage in the courtroom "...to protect others from Chikatilo as well as [protecting] Chikatilo from relatives of his victims.
